Took Sarah to the symphony this past weekend…

We took Sarah to the symphony this past weekend to see Anne Akiko Meyers playing Mendelssohn’s Violin Concerto in E Minor.  What an excellent concert!

Sarah is taking violin, and for her to see one of the world’s foremost female violinists playing was quite a joy for her.  Sarah’s eyes were wide and she had a small smile on her face the entire concert.  It was great to see!

I’ve included below a YouTube video of Anne playing the same piece with another symphony.  It was even better than this clip shows.

If you can’t see the video (some of you may not be able to see it if you are using the FeedBlitz or FeedBurner email service), click here for the YouTube page.

On a side note, thanks to Jorg Colberg’s photography site, I ran across another video of what has to be the world’s most animated and energetic symphony conductors, Gustavo Dudamel, conducting Shostakovich’s Symphony 10, movement II. Allegro.  It is funny and amazing to watch.

I’ve included it below.

Again, for those that cannot view the video here, click here for the YouTube site.

Enjoy!
