Returning from an Indian Princess campout, Sarah and I, along with another father and daughter, decided to take a side trip to the small, no tiny, town of Amboy, CA.  This is an almost forgotten stop along Historic Route 66.  According to a local (there’s not that many!), the town never really took off because they had to truck water in by train.  In fact, they still have to bring water in by truck or train!

We also stopped by the Amboy Crater, an extinct volcanic crater just outside of town.
