Foxit Reader 2.3

So here’s how it goes…

1. You get an email from a friend talking about this great new (photo, news story, tax form, insert your document here)…you get the deal,
2. Attached to the email is a PDF file that you need to open and read.  Great you have Abode Acrobat Reader.  No problem, right?
3. You open the attached file and wait for Acrobat Reader to open…and wait….and wait…and wait.  What are all those modules and plugins that acrobat is initializing?
4. You finally get to read the attachment after the majority of your computer’s RAM is taken up by Acrobat Reader
5. Begin the inevitable slow down of any Windows based computer due to limited resources.  Nice

How to solve this?  Chunk Acrobat Reader and replace it with Foxit Reader.  Foxit Reader replaces all of Acrobat Reader’s functions with a much smaller footprint.  It is nimble and quick and very stable.

I’ve been using it for the last several months, and have been very satisfied with it. 

You still can’t produce PDF documents with it (just like Acrobat Reader), but for reading all those PDF files, it’s the bee’s knee’s, the cat’s meow, the shiznit (to quote Snoop Dogg).
