Folks, PLEASE pay attention to your backgrounds. While the above is an extreme example, I've seen so many good intentions for photographs get ruined by poorly chosen backgrounds. Special thanks to Awkwardfamilypetphotos for the above disaster!

All photographs should have 3 major visual points – the foreground, mid-ground and background. This one obviously has problems! For some examples of good fore-mid-background compositions, check out this article from Outdoor Photographer magazine.
