Nice Article about my San Diego offce team

Many of you know what I do, and many don’t.  The article below is a really good summary of one of our West Coast successes.  I manage our West Region for ADS Environmental Services, made up of three offices of twenty four people (Huntington Beach, CA, San Diego, CA and Seattle, WA), covering 14 states from the front range of the Rocky Mountains west to the Pacific, including Alaska and Hawaii.

The City of San Diego was a long term customer of ours that we lost to a “low cost” service provider back in 2003.  Two years later we won the contract back and our San Diego team pulled off an extraordinary feat of getting the system back up and running in 14 days.  I’m surprised that the 14 day turnaround made it so prominently in the article.  During the preparation of our proposal for the work, I threw the 14 day turn around out as an idea, and it stuck as one of our most daring and prominent sections of the proposal!  Since it was my idea, I had to defend it in the proposal interview with the City.  The City was incredulous – they just didn’t see how we could do it.  The “low cost” provider had not been able to get the system running in almost 2 years, and we proposed to do it in 14 days! I have tremendous belief in our technology and our crews, and they didn’t let me down.  We completed the installation in 13 days – 1 day ahead of schedule.  A great success.

Kudos to them.  It’s nice to see some national recognition of their success.  The folks shown in the article are on my staff.  Here’s the link: Municipal Sewer and Water Magazine – The cover story and feature of the current issue of Municipal Sewer and Water.

Oh, and if you’ve never seen the inside of a sewer line, you get your chance in the article!  Haven’t you always wanted to see that?

  1. It’s sad to see that you have no music in your head (or ears). Don’t tell me you’re completely immersed in sewer water (management, that is)!
