Okay, I travel a good bit, and some runways and landings are more nerve wracking than others.  John Wayne Airport near our home has a short runway that requires a pretty quick stop.  The airlines love former Navy pilots to land here.  Why?  Think aircraft carrier landing!  Come in fast and stop fast!  Always fun!

But these 10 runways take the cake.  We’ve landed at a few:  JFK, St. Maarten…almost went to Saba.  Anyway, enjoy the photos and descriptions.

  1. Glad that you enjoyed the story I posted. Minor typo in the credit, however. The site is the Wandering Aramean, not the Wandering Armenian. Most folks get that one wrong at the sedar every year, too.

  2. Thanks for the comment, and also for the correction! I too quickly notice when someone makes a common yet annoying mistake with my name.
I have duly updated the post!
